Gene’s Green Smoothie
Ingredients:
1 large handful of kale
1 banana
1 handful of spinach
1/2 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
2 tablespoons flax seeds and/or chia seeds
Soy, almond, or hemp milk (enough to cover ingredients)
1 tablespoon peanut butter (for added richness and protein)
Method:
Place the kale, banana, spinach, blueberries, flax/chia seeds, and peanut butter in a high-speed blender.
Pour in enough soy, almond, or hemp milk to just cover the ingredients.
Blend on high until smooth and creamy, adding more milk if needed to reach your desired consistency.
Note: The greens are, in my view, really the superfood. I try to eat a lot of greens.
For protein, I'll eat beans, tempeh and tofu, nuts and seeds.
